IDENTIFICATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES IN SOME AREAS OF EL- ISMAILIYA GOVERNORATE USING REMOTE SENSING AND GIS

The current investigation aims to identifying the land and water resources in some areas of Ismailiya governorate. This study covers soil geomorphological pedological characteristics including classification, capability evaluation assessment suitability for certain main crops. integration Remote Sensing (RS) Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques were used perform this work. The interpretation satellite image area indicated that, there are six identified geomorphic units seven subunits area. These 1) Depressions, 2) Terraces (Low High), 3) Basins (over flow basins Decantation basins), 4) Peneplains 5) Sandy plains (Low, Moderate High) 6) Mountain (foot slope Crest). Twenty profiles selected representing these landforms. The site features observed registered. Soil dug morphologically described. Samples collected subsequent layers each profile as well irrigation samples taken integrated physical chemical analysis. studied has almost flat topography with an elevation between -4 134 m. above sea level. soils deep drainage system. have light texture mostly loamy sand weak granular structure. All non-saline slightly saline non-sodic having alkaline reaction. moderately calcareous. Organic matter (OM), cation exchange capacity (CEC) gypsum low. low content available macro nutrients (N, P K). haven’t any diagnostic sub-surface horizons. Therefor classified under Entisols whether Typic Torripsaments (89.4%) or Torriorthents (10.6%). from Low Terraces, sandy showed a good quality purposes. Water other landforms moderate severe salinity, sodicity chloride hazards. According results, about 25.7% was fair (C3) 74.3% poor (C4).
